Description

I am a Rokkaku-bin Vase. Looking at my wide base and voluptuous shape, you can tell I’m no shrinking violet.

Curator’s Notes

For its clean lines and simple grace, this porcelain vase also contains a play of high drama. Its multiple facets cast shadows on its surface that shift depending on the lighting conditions, adding nuance to its shape at different times of the day. With its medium-sized base and long narrow neck, the vase asserts a sculptural presence on the table or counter, especially with a simple arrangement of just a few stems.
