Curator’s Notes

These are simple, almost deceptively so. But we like that. There is something grounding about bringing a small piece of nature into the home. A texture, a reminder, a pause you can hold in your hand. Like picking up a seashell on the beach or a dried leaf on a trail. Meaning does not always have to be loud. Sometimes it just needs to feel real.

Our Wood Magnets are made from the remains of small furniture and household object production, using pieces of fragrant olive wood, a tree native to Japan and cherished for its delicate scent and fine grain, that might have otherwise been overlooked. Each one is a clean cross-section of a branch, polished to reveal the quiet beauty of the grain while keeping the outer bark intact.
