Curator’s Notes
A funnel is one of those kitchen accessories we never knew we needed until we had one. Instead of making a mess of the countertops, this functional object allows a smooth transfer of liquids or fine table condiments like salt or sugar into vessels, containers and bottles with small openings. The multiple layers of brushed urushi lacquer protects the wood while giving the piece a hand painted quality fit for an object so sculptural.

- Features Ryuji Mitani’s signature in the interior of the funnel
- Interior is lacquered black
- Exterior has layers of white lacquer
- Do not soak urushi lacquered pieces in water for prolonged periods
- Wash with a soft sponge and mild dish soap
- Rinse with warm water
- Wipe with a cloth and dry well
- Each piece is unique and will have variations
- Not dishwasher safe
