Serrated Chaya, also known as Mexican Spinach Tree or Tree Spinach, is a nutrient-dense perennial leafy green native to Mexico and Central America. This variety features deeply lobed, serrated leaves that are not only ornamental but also highly edible once cooked—offering a rich, earthy flavor similar to spinach, but with far more protein, iron, calcium, and antioxidants.

Grown for centuries as a food and medicinal plant, Serrated Chaya thrives in hot, sunny climates, making it a go-to green for subtropical and tropical gardens.
