Curator’s Notes

We can’t think of a more exemplary piece that describes Factory Zoomer’s philosophy of works for daily use then this bowl with a 365 pattern. When founder Kazumi Tsuji shifted from making art works to functional crafts for everyday life this pattern became integrated into her “standard series”. The pattern is made using a unique process where a sphere is formed, then applied with black in only the areas where the 365 will appear. The sphere is then blown and shaped into a square bowl that is perfect for breakfast oatmeal or cereal.
