Description
I am a Bench. I don’t mind my position. As long as the team wins, I’m happy sitting on the sidelines.
Curator’s Notes
This oak bench can stand in an entryway or serve as a seating solution for many areas of the home. Pulling the bench out from tables is effortless with the grooved handles hidden along the under-edges of the seat. Handcrafted in the Hokkaido region of Japan, the stool exemplifies the traditional Japanese technique of “fuki-urushi”. By repeatedly applying lacquer and then wiping it off, the appearance of a saturated wood grain is achieved. The stool also has subtle marks of the maker’s carving tools that add to its charm and handcrafted appeal.
