Curator’s Notes

The low feet of this ceramic tray elevate the surface just a bit for a floating effect. Rather than a stark solid shape, its black glaze is warm and textured, and its imperfect edges have the charm of a handcrafted item. This tray would make for beautiful presentation of wagashi sweets. It can also be used to serve tea, keeping the hot cups off the surface of the table. I also love how its minimal form works for showcasing a special object, like a family heirloom with sentimental value.
