Curator’s Notes

Good butter can carry the dish that it’s eaten with, so why not a nice container to carry it? As one of Mitani’s first tableware piece, the simplicity of his signature mountain cherry box is perfect for serving and sits elegantly on your dining table. With a spreader that fits into its case, this butter box exemplifies the considered approach Mitani has towards form and function.

• Handcrafted in Matsumoto, Japan

• Do not soak the piece in water for prolonged periods
• Wash with a soft sponge and mild dish soap
• Rinse with warm water
• Wipe with a cloth and dry well
• Each piece is unique and will have variations
