Curator’s Notes

Tea lights are the perfect-fit for these striking two-part candle holders. With a removable upper portion, the candle can rest and drip wax on the porcelain without damaging the wood base.

“Kime” means texture or wood grain in Japanese and each Kime product features the unique qualities of the wood it is made from. The sleek shapes and smooth texture highlight the outstanding skill of the craftsmen who make each piece in Asahikawa, Japan.
