Description

I am a ‘Sumi’ Diamond Plate. People always tell me my skin looks pale. It’s not pale I tell them, it’s porcelain.

Curator’s Notes

The traditional style corners of the ‘Sumi’ series of plates was designed by Oji Masanori to reflect 18th-19th century Western-style porcelain. We like them because the ‘Sumi’ style pinched corners give them an air of sophistication, which is a feature fit serving platters.
