Curator’s Notes

There’s no simpler way to make a dish stand out than to elevate it on the dining table. This wooden footed plate provides a graceful setting for those special dishes that we want to draw attention to with its elegantly carved base. The plate itself is kept simple and unadorned to show off the delicate lines of its tochi wood grain. We love the gentle curve of the plate’s shallow wall for serving sweets and holding up pickled vegetables on a much deserved pedestal.
