Curator’s Notes

Traditional Japanese bath houses will most certainly have a bucket or pail like this one with a handle resting outside for the purpose of rinsing before jumping in the bath. It’s a handy bathroom accessory that invigorates all the senses including smell with its incredible scent of hinoki.
