Curator’s Notes

The liquid glass nano coating technology used for the lacquer in this plate is a true testament to Mitani-san’s mindset focused on constant evolution. We were so excited to hear about his new attempts to use nano coating because it adds to the list of foods you can enjoy on it: neither hot or cold foods will cause warping or staining and the tray is so much easier to clean and maintain. Combined with the beautiful shape, we are excited by the many foods that we can enjoy on this.

• Features a glass nano coating that protects the wood from warping and staining and adds to it’s overall durability
• Soft beveled edges
• Hand-carved texture throughout
• Wash with a soap sponge and water
• Wipe with a cloth and dry well immediately after washing
• For maintenance, oil the tray with a neutral oil periodically
• Each piece is unique and will have variations
