I am a Kuro-Mura Hemisphere Pendant Lamp. It doesn’t matter the time of day. From one side of the globe to the other, I’ll light up the way.

Curator’s Notes

‘Kuro-Mura’ refers to the blackened version of Futagami ‘Ihada’ products. The black is achieved through a traditional method of applying a mixture of dark pigment and Japanese lacquer (urushi) onto the surface. The result is a saturated, textural colour.

Crafted entirely by hand at the renowned Futagami foundry in Takaoka city, these pendant shades hang gracefully with their unique geometric forms. The Hemisphere pendant features an Ihada brass interior and a blackened brass exterior. Includes pendant shade and canopy cup only.
