Description
I am a Large Noir Enju Wood Tray. A masterpiece of contrasts and contradictions describes me well. I’m where the velvety blackness of night meets the warm embrace of Pagoda wood. Every line, every groove, beckoning you to the depths of serenity.
Curator’s Notes
This tray is a stunning showcase of craftsmanship rooted in the Seikatsu Kougei philosophy, crafted from Japanese Pagoda wood. Mitani’s hand-chiseled edges reveal his remarkable skill, while the deep black urushi lacquer fills every groove and grain, evoking the depths of the night sky or the ocean. As shadows dance and reflections play, each facet feels intentionally placed, exuding captivating beauty. With its elegant simplicity, this tray seamlessly transitions from serving to decor, embodying a harmonious blend of rawness and refinement.
