Curator’s Notes

A brilliant idea to have this rug made out of the same material as Hender Scheme’s footwear collection – it makes total sense! The rug is comprised of pieces cut from the leather Hender Scheme uses for their stacked leather shoe soles, carefully cut and pieced together to form a one-of-a-kind rug for the home that will only get better with age!

• Top layer is patch-worked together and held firmly in place to an under layer of leather – the same process utilized in the making of Hender Scheme’s leather shoe soles
• Small scratches and imperfections can be expected from the raw cow hide
• The leather will naturally develop a patina over time and showcase unique traces of everyday use
