Curator’s Notes

This solid cast iron candle case has a saturated surface texture much like many Simplicity ironwares. It has a rich, rusty toned surface allover that adds to it’s antique-like quality. A lid provides slight coverage for the tea light which offers ambient mood lighting as the flame flickers from within the case and light shines through the cutout cross motif on the lid.
