Curator’s Notes

With its pretty floral shape and surprising interior, this sliver blue lined teacup with saucer from Masanobu Ando is a precious reminder of spring. The exterior surface of the porcelain is glazed in real silver that stands in contrast to the rugged nature of this handcrafted set. The play of contrasts is further emphasized by the faint blue tint left exposed in the interior of the cup. Reminiscent of pale robin’s egg blue, the delicate pop of color adds a gentle warmth to savor with every sip.
