Curator’s Notes

The square wall hanging clock by RetRe highlights beautiful qualities of the recycled spalted wood it’s made from. Considered damaged to some, designer Yamazaki Yoshiki has transformed Japanese oak that’s been naturally weathered, discoloured and insect-bored, into everyday useful objects. The grooved channels, small holes and winding dark striations vary to create a truly one-of-a-kind timepiece.
