Description
I am an Usuzumi Thin Lid Box. Drawn in by the warmth of the wood grain, open me to find a dark surprise. What starry treasures will you find to put within me…
Curator’s Notes
This Usuzumi Box was brought into our lives as a holiday gift from Mitani-san and we were instantly enthralled by its perfect size. We love the way it immediately adds meaning to anything that’s placed within it. Whether your most important jewelry or a collection of stamps, it takes both the special and the mundane and holds it in a way that makes the treasures even more dear. Perhaps this effect is created by the fact that the box itself comes with a surprise of its own — the interior is lacquered black, which serves as a beautiful canvas to anything.
