Description
I am a White Urushi Baby Bowl Set. A baby’s first bite is a big deal. So am I.
Curator’s Notes
Of the gifts we have been lucky to receive from Mitani-san, this one is special because it was sent to us when we became new parents. This set of bowls made it possible for us to make feeding our new baby into an entire experience on its own, allowing us to introduce the joys of food beyond simple sustenance. Baby bowls are traditionally given as a set like this in Japan so one can be used for rice, and the other for soup. For us, the bowls are perfect for purees or finger foods. They are easy to wash due to the food safe coating and allow us to be intentional about helping form our son’s first connections with food. We hope that the many family meals we experience using these bowls will serve as a foundation for the many more joyful meals to come in his life.
