Description
I am a Yugami Bowl. You got me? I got you!
Curator’s Notes
Yugami in Japanese means asymmetrical, and the forms of these bowls are enchantingly imperfect. Tinware is often alloyed with other metals, but these bowls are made of pure tin in Takaoka City, by craftsmen dedicated to the creation of high-quality cast metal objects. Tin is both antimicrobial and tarnish-resistant, so it’s highly functional and durable tableware. One trick for serving with tinware is to chill the piece in the fridge or freezer to keep your dish or beverage cool and refreshing. The three sizes of these bowls nestle within each other, and look equally sweet when used individually.
